We went to the 5th annual end-of-season party at Redwood Roots Farm yesterday (the farm where we participate in a CSA). I won a basket of sungold tomatoes which Ben promptly ate. He hungrily eats strawberries and sungolds at the farm, but won’t eat them anywhere else. Josh is grooming Ben to be a soccer player, but Ben really likes rolling pumpkins instead!

Pumpkin Patch

Today is warm and sunny and not so windy so this morning we went to the pumpkin patch in Blue Lake. Ben enjoyed the hay ride to the patch and trying to lift all of the gigantic pumpkins. Thanks to Aunt Lauren for the candy corn hat!

We learned this song at the English Kiddie Song Group in Sweden. It has always been one of Ben’s favorites. Although Josh says that my voice has improved in the nine and a half years that we have been married, I apologize for your having to listen to me sing. It is vital to the video. In related news…Ben has said “no” to my singing him to sleep for the past week. He only wants to hear the Renee and Jeremy CD. I was only mildly offended!!

Well, October has been the month of colds in the Smith house. Josh was sick before we came home from Pittsburgh…then I got sick…then Ben got sick…and now I am sick again. Goodness gracious!

Pumpkin Challah

There’s no better start to a (Jewish) new year than good friends and family enjoying a meal together. Especially one with pumpkin challah. I am so happy to be making bread again! And Ben enjoyed stirring ingredients and watching it bake.
